Project idea
"South Baltic Arc" is a part of transnational project South Baltic Arc - Spatial Strategies for Integration and Sustainable
Development Acceleration of the South Baltic Arc Zone supported from BSR INTERREG III B Initiative.
The main objective of the SBA Project is strengthening competitive potential
and investment attractiveness of the Polish coastal regions in the creation
process of the socio-economic and spatial cohesion within transnational
South Baltic Development Zone.
The main actions in the project include analysis of competitiveness,
investment attractiveness and socioeconomic potential and definition of
its potential use in Polish part of the SBA; A choice of the strategic
location and preliminary preparation of key infrastructural investment
(i.e. in transport and others which can reinforce economic sector development)
determining further socioeconomic development in the north part of Poland.
Expected outcomes:
- Pre-feasibility studies for identified infrastructural investments (transport
investments catalogue, accompanying investments catalogue, identification
of the non-investment actions),
- Recommendations for future regional development operational programmes,
- SBA marketing strategy guidelines,
- Pilot GIS database for SBA zone.
Structure implementation of the project:
- A Management Team
The team is composed of six persons - including adequate managers in
office of the Marshal for regional and spatial development. This team unanimousty
make the most important decisions applying realization of the project.
- Co-ordinator of the Project
- Working Teams
Teams are composed of personnel official office of the Marshal and
voivodship planning services (3-6 persons by team). They collect
and analyse information, cooperate with consultants recommend taking actions
for management. They have done tematical elaborations about (Files in .pdf format (polish version), require the Adobe Acrobat Reader)
"transport network", "colonization network", "green network"
so far.
- A Consultants group
This group is composed of experts, who assist Working Teams in their
elaborations, formulating proposals, suggestions and realization of activities
- A Referent Group
This group is mainly composed of representatives of local goverments.
This group give opinions about settlements of the project and make proposals
of activities for realization after the project will be finished.
